Hay Tor, probably one of the most visited rock tors on Dartmoor, is close to the road and can be climbed to the top for good views.
The carpark is popular in summer, and ice creams and soft drinks are sold to refresh you after your climb.
Around the rear of the tor you can still see signs of an old railway where horses were used to haul quarried stone. This is where the Dartmoor ponies commonly seen on the moor originally came from.
The quarry can still be seen if you walk past the tor away from the road with good views down to Widecombe.
